DMVPN and EIGRP
Tue, 22 Apr 2008 21:41:20 +0000
DMVPN seems to be a very popular topic on the CCIE Security forums especially with running routing protocols over it. Below you’ll see 2 simple configs of a hub and spoke configured for DMVPN and EIGRP. These configs contain an error can you spot it?

Gatekeeper trunk redundancy
Wed, 02 Aug 2006 18:56:42 +0000
If you have two gatekeeper trunks, one in a G711 region and the other in a G729 region and you setup the Route list with G711 as the first priority and G729 as the second priority and the gatekeeper does not have enough bandwidth to process a G711 call, then it will fallback and use ...]

To help prep for an internal security audit, I needed to upgrade the IOS on a few 3800 series routers. Last night, I uploaded the 12.4(20)T image into each router and scheduled the reboot with a description:
reload in 2:30 IOS Upgrade for Security Audit
When I woke up this morning to check on the routers, ...]
CIR calculation
Sun, 09 Jul 2006 23:43:07 +0000
WHen calculating cir and mincir for FRTS, use 95 % of the CIR value. If CIR = 256k, it should be used as 256000. Do not multiply 256 with 1024.
